‘Ding-dong’, Shirley heard the bell of her front door ring and goes to see who it is. She has been expecting Brooke who called her earlier in the day to tell her she will be stopping by.

“Hey”, “Hey, good to see you”. It was Brooke. They both work together as associates in the Blueberry store located at East Lebanon street.

“Come in”, said Shirley as her pet dog ran to meet her excitedly.

“Oh, look at her, so beautiful”, said Brooke as she sat on one of the sofas.

“What’s her name?”, she asked

“Ola”, Shirley replied.

“Look at you cutie cutie”, said Brooke as she stroke her gently.

“So, like I shared with you over the phone”, started Shirley, “Mike has started again. This time, he went to the child protective services and told all sorts of lies against me, how I was the one responsible for neglecting our daughter, which has caused her the sickness she is having now. They were here two days ago and asked me questions I never imagined they would ask me”.
